Quick and Easy Salsa

Salsa is such a staple. It's a great dip, but also great on eggs and as a general condiment. This is an easy recipe that uses a mix of fresh and canned ingredients that a friend from work gave me.

Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
2 cans (14.5 oz each approx) diced tomatoes
1 small can (4 oz) diced jalapeños
1 bunch cilantro (washed)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion

Method

  1. In a blender, mix tomatoes, jalapeños and cilantro until smooth.
  2. Remove mixture into a bowl and stir in chopped onions. (Adding the onions gives the salsa a nice crunch.)
Note
Sometimes when I am in the hot mood for a little more heat, I chop a fresh jalapeño and throw it in the blender as well. It's gives it a nice kick. I have as yet to add a habanero, but it's on my list. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Nutritional Information
Coming eventually... it's on my to do list.

Where to eat salsa?

There are so many great places to eat salsa. Top of mind is Tito's Tacos because I can practically drink the salsa from this place. My friend's want to figure out the secret recipe. It is so delicious. Tito's is an institution in Los Angeles. People go mad-crazy for the tacos. It definitely has cult status. Unfortunately for me I am not a fan of the deep fried taco. I prefer soft tacos. But, stop by and grab some salsa. As of this writing a medium salsa (8 oz) is $2.25.
